Ibeyi Concert in Atlanta
French sisters Ibeyi will start their highly-anticipated North American tour in March 2023. Following their third album Spell 31 release last May and the unfortunate postponement of their tour, Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz will finally bring their powerful new show, including a full live band, to fourteen major American cities, including Atlanta.

“La Ligne” (2022) | Movie Screening
Join us for a film screening of La Ligne, a fictional drama centered on 35-year-old Margaret, charged with a three-month restraining order for having hit her mother. But the 200 meters that now separate her from her home only exacerbate her desire to come closer to her family.
Théâtre du Rêve presents “Vive La Fontaine”
Théâtre du Rêve, Atlanta’s unique French-language theatre, is making their return to live performance with “Vive La Fontaine”. It’s song, dance, storytelling, puppetry, and spoken word. It’s for all ages, from 3 to 103: an invitation to sit by the metaphorical fire and listen to a master’s tales.

CHICAGO-reconstitution is the story by Clyde Chabot of the premature birth of her daughter, in the United States in 2002. The medical world, the worries, the joys and the potentials associated with the birth of this fragile being suddenly arise in a country that is not theirs.

French Playwright & Performer Clyde Chabot presents “Tunisia”
With TUNISIA, Clyde Chabot revisits her family history of migration, from Sicily towards Tunisia then France, to invite each to plunge into his own memory, to question migratory flow, the fear and the desire of the other one, and our representation of the foreigners.

“Regard Noir” follows acclaimed French actress and award-winning director Aïssa Maïga on a road-trip from Paris to Los Angeles and São Paulo to explore the historical roots of systemic racism and the impact of discrimination and stereotypes in films and series on societies and their respective popular culture.
French Playwright & Performer Clyde Chabot presents “Sicilia”
SICILIA covers the history of migrations in the family of Clyde Chabot, left Sicily at the end of the 19th century for the United States and Tunisia then France. She plays it herself around a big table as if the audience were her family. She shares with them a bit of Pecorino with pepper, the only Sicilian relic that has passed through generations. She has performed this show more than 150 times in France and abroad.
“Above Water” (Orange Studio) | Screening and Q&A with Director Aïssa Maïga
“Above Water” / “Marcher sur l’eau” (Orange Studio) details the life of 12-year-old Houlaye, who travels several kilometers each day to fetch water until her village unites to construct a well. This fundamentally could change the lives of a group of people who have literally been walking on water since birth.

Writing Resilience | A Talk with Veronique Tadjo
Ivorian writer Véronique Tadjo comes to Emory University to present an online talk followed by a Q&A. Véronique Tadjo is a poet, novelist, academic, and artist from Côte d’Ivoire. She earned a doctorate in Black American Literature and Civilization from the Sorbonne, Paris IV, and went to the United States as a Fulbright scholar at Howard University in Washington, DC. She headed the French Department of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg until 2015. Her books have been translated into several languages.
