Discover the work of Mathieu Dahan, a young French researcher in Atlanta
The Office for Science and Technology of the Consulate General of France in Atlanta, in partnership with the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta and Atlanta Francophonie Festival, invites you to participate in the new "Café des Sciences", with a special focus on AI for the resilience of large-scale systems. Come and discover the work of Mathieu Dahan, Assistant Professor in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech and the testimony of Alan Luo on the French-American Ph.D. exchange program Chateaubriand.
The Chateaubriand Fellowship program supports outstanding PhD students from U.S. institutions who wish to conduct part of their doctoral research in France for a period ranging from 4 to 8/9 months.
This event will be in French and refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to the public and constitute an excellent opportunity to broaden your respective networks, both scientific and social.
Mathieu Dahan is an Assistant Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. His research interests are in combinatorial optimization, game theory, and predictive analytics, with applications to service operations management and disaster logistics. His primary focus is on developing strategies for improving the resilience of large-scale infrastructures — particularly, transportation and natural gas networks — in the face of correlated failures such as security attacks and natural disasters. Current projects include: (i) Strategic design of network inspection systems; and (ii) Analytics-based response operations under uncertainty.
This event is made possible by the Office for Science and Technology of the Consulate General of France in Atlanta.
