Join us for a screening of the movie Festin Boréal / Wild Feast (Québec, 2023), followed by an online discussion with the director, Robert Morin. A reception will follow the screening.
Critically acclaimed, Festin Boréal/Wild Feast is an incredible feat of filmmaking and a thrilling and innovative take on the nature documentary. The film is a reflection on death, on its natural place in this world and, by extension, on its deeper meaning and purpose.
SYNOPSIS:
Struck by an arrow, a moose escapes its pursuers to die deep in the forest, feasting on its fellow creatures. First wasps, flies and beetles, then crows, eagles, vultures, and finally all the carnivorous mammals of the boreal forest. The banquet is the occasion for games, rituals and conflicts between species and between rivals from the same families. By spring, there’ll be nothing left of the giant but the silhouette of his body imprinted on nature.
